I’ve been wanting to wake up super early on the weekend and take advantage of the late-night tube to explore some night photography. It’s been a while since I’ve played around with long exposures and other techniques. So this morning, I woke up at 4:00 AM, grabbed my camera and tripod, and headed out.
I ended up in Camden, experimenting with different shots using my 50mm lens. There was a brief moment of concern when someone approached me, but it turned out they were just worried I had photographed them without permission.
It was fascinating to observe how the city looked at that hour, and I focused on capturing shots that caught my eye. During editing, I decided to go for a slightly oversaturated look with the colours, playing around with different interpretations of what I saw and why I chose to photograph it.
I enjoyed the experience and plan to do it again, perhaps with a bit more planning next time. My favourite moment was when someone asked, “You up early, or you up late?” It made me laugh.
