Capturing the Beat: Why Notting Hill Carnival Never Fails to Steal My Heart

There is nothing quite like London in late August, but more specifically, there is absolutely nothing like Notting Hill Carnival. It is beautiful, it is wildly vibrant, and it is a complete sensory overload in the best possible way.

Between the thumping bass of the sound systems, the sea of smiling faces, and the sheer electric atmosphere, it’s a photographer’s dream. I’ve had the privilege of shooting here twice now, and every single time, it leaves me absolutely buzzing.

The first time I experienced Carnival, I was a university student. Back then, everything felt incredibly new, different, and wonderfully chaotic. Navigating those packed streets with a camera in hand was a rite of passage.
