Every photographer talks about “the shot,” but for me, this collection isn’t about capturing a perfect, staged moment. It’s an exploration of the frame, the shock of a sudden viewpoint, and how color angles alone can clash or harmonize with the overall tone of a space.
These images are entirely about perspective specifically, my perspective in a single, fleeting moment.
Stories Left Behind
Take, for instance, a single shoe wedged against a fence, with dead leaves weaving their way through the fabric.
Finding objects like this instantly sparks a narrative in my mind. It’s a quiet mystery left out in the open, begging for a backstory that I get to invent through the way I frame it.
Chasing Light
Other times, it’s not about a physical object, but an experience. I found myself spinning in the middle of a forest, watching the world blur around me, completely captivated by how the light became transparent as it pierced through the leaves. The angles of the sun and the shifting tones of green and gold created a living canvas that changed every millisecond.
Fueled by Curiosity
Ultimately, these images didn’t come from a meticulous plan or a structured assignment. They all came about because of my own curiosity. It’s about stopping when the rest of the world walks by, tilting the camera, and asking, “What happens if I look at it this way?”
